The DHC-6 Twin Otter® Classic 300-G™ isa Canadian STOL (Short Take-off and Landing) utility aircraft developed by De Havilland Canada.
The DHC-6 Twin Otter Classic 300-G offers a Garmin G1000® NXi flight deck which provides wireless cockpit connectivity, increased situational awareness and visual approach capability. With a completely redesigned modern cabin interior blending aesthetics and functionality, the cabin has been enhanced to improve passenger comfort and convenience.
The aircraft’s lightweight design not only enhances payload and range but also reduces operating costs. Additionally, its robust systems boast extended service life and longer intervals between overhauls, contributing to improve dispatch availability and increased flying time.
The aircraft’s fixed tricycle undercarriage, STOL capabilities, twin turboprop engines and high rate of climb have made it a successful commuter airliner, typically seating 18–20 passengers. All DHC-6 Twin Otters carry passengers, move cargo, conduct medical evacuation operations, and perform special missions in the world’s most unforgiving environments. The versatile aircraft offers the flexibility to cater to VIP transport needs, complete with an optional executive interior. This versatility allows it to seamlessly transition from luxury travel to carrying out challenging missions.
When mounted on amphibious floats, the aircraft move seamlessly between paved surfaces and water-landing areas, with a second engine option on offer designed for extreme operations in challenging environments.
In June 2023, Jetcraft Commercial was announced as the launch customer for the DHC-6 Twin Otter® Classic 300-G™ following the signing of a purchase agreement at the Paris Air Show to acquire 10 of the new aircraft.
Brief history
The DHC-6 Twin Otter Classic 300-G is the fifth generation of the Twin Otter aircraft, joining the current Series 400. The DHC-6 Twin Otter was developed by De Havilland Canada in the mid-1960s and is still in production today. De Havilland Canada produced the aircraft from 1965 to 1988; Viking Air then purchased the type certificate and restarted production in 2008 before re-adopting the DHC name in 2022. In 2023 DHC restarted production of the 300 series, in addition to the Series 400 produced by Viking.

Performance
The Twin Otter is typically powered by two Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-27 engines. These engines drive a constant speed, with a fully feathering, reversible propeller. The engines provide ample power for climbing over steep terrain, working at altitudes up to 7,000m and can withstand frequent rapid power changes.
Alternatively on offer are two PTA6A-34 engines which are designed for extreme operations, ideal for challenging environments and demanding missions.
Interior
The standard configuration typically seats 18-20 passengers, with a newly updated cabin presenting a modern design, blending aesthetics and functionality, with a refreshed window panel providing more natural light and brighter cabin ambience. New integrated passenger service units featuring LED lights and gaspers have been included for improved passenger comfort and convenience.
The aircraft interior can be adapted to meet your specific mission requirements, with the option of an executive option, offering all the comforts of a business jet. The executive interior allows for custom style and design, accommodating between 8 to 10 passengers based on the chosen configuration by the owner or operator.
