The Challenger 605 was introduced with an avionics and structural upgrade on the 604 design with the same two General Electric CF34-3B engines and wings. In a combination of club, divan and individual seating, the Challenger 605 typically carries 10-12 passengers. Structural improvements included larger and higher-positioned cabin windows.
Cockpit instrumentation was updated with new avionics displays and "electronic flight bag" capability. Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 with four-screen display system, offering 55 percent more area and an improved pilot interface. This model can be visually identified by a new, rounded tailcone.
As of January 2014, the Challenger 605 market is comprised of 56% pre-owned. The percentage for sale is 6.9% with 100% under an exclusive broker agreement and average days on the market are 310 days.
