Worcester's Tigers raid continues with fourth signing from last season's squad
Worcester Warriors have signed Nottingham lock Côme Joussain ahead of next season.
The 24-year-old Frenchman spent the last season on loan at Leicester Tigers in the Gallagher Premiership, scoring a try in a defeat to eventual Investec Champions Cup winners Bordeaux-Begles in December.
Joussain will become the fourth player who spent last season at Leicester to make the move across the Midlands this summer, joining wing Josh Bassett, prop Tim Hoyt and hooker Archie Vanes as Worcester are set to return to professional rugby in Champ Rugby.
Leicester had already announced in May that the former Stade Francais forward would be returning to his parent club at the end of the season, who he signed for in August 2023, but his Nottingham career has instead come to an end.
“I am incredibly proud and grateful to be joining Worcester Warriors at such a pivotal moment in the club’s journey,” said Joussain.
“Being a part of the team tasked to bring rugby back at Sixways for the Warriors fans is incredibly exciting and comes with a real sense of purpose.”
Warriors head coach Matt Everard added: “Big Côme! Côme’s consistent physicality is something I absolutely admire.
“This physicality is what our pack will be built on, with Côme right in the middle of it.
“Côme has a big ceiling and is hungry to improve daily. I’d like to thank him for committing to Warriors.”
