New Zealand National Rugby Union Team: The All Blacks

More commonly known as the All Blacks, the New Zealand national rugby union team are the pride of their nation - and with good reason. The All Blacks are one of the most successful international rugby sides in history. After all, New Zealand have won the Rugby World Cup on three occasions and they hold a winning record against every test side they've ever played.

As you may expect for such an outstanding team, the All Blacks squad has historically been full of top international stars and many former All Blacks have been inducted into the International Rugby Hall of Fame, including Jonah Lomu, Richie McCaw and Dan Carter.

New Zealand at The Rugby Championship

New Zealand first entered The Rugby Championship in 1996, when the competition was known as the Tri-Nations and they battled annually against South Africa and Australia. In 2012, these three elite squads were joined by Argentina and the competition became known as The Rugby Championship.

Ever since 1996, the All Blacks have enjoyed a formidable record in the competition, claiming 20 titles. By way of comparison, South Africa have won the next-highest number of titles during the same period, and they have only won five!

New Zealand at the Rugby World Cup

The New Zealand national rugby union team has been a dominant force at the Rugby World Cup. Not only have they won the competition three times (1987, 2011 and 2015), but they've also finished as runners-up twice and finished third on three occasions.

The All Blacks experienced their worst Rugby World Cup in 2007, when they were eliminated at the quarter-final stage of the competition by France. In every other edition of the tournament, the All Blacks squad has at least reached the quarter-final stage.

On this page you can uncover everything there is to know about the All Blacks, including breaking news, the latest results and the full All Blacks squad for the team’s upcoming fixtures.
